[doing this on emotion share week so instead of her just berating him for saying this or brushing it off with something awkward he gets to feel how sad that makes her. she's too awkward to try to hug him which is maybe for the best, but she does feel strong desire to make someone suffer over this.
despite how acrimonious their relationship is at times, she hardly felt any doubt over calling him a friend, an important one. he matters to her, and that's really all that matters. maybe there are reasons why he feels as though he isn't worth much, and they have to do with mass murder and betrayal, but where she always comes down to on that is. if that's what it is, at least hate him. at least hating someone is a way to let them matter.]
