[ yeah its his cunty outfit for blowing up a church. speaking of: ]
Welcoming to salamanders or not, I don't have good experiences in the Chantry. And I imagine they feel the same about me in return. So perhaps for the best to avoid it.
You did mention heresies, yes. Well, never fear. The faith I follow would be considered heretical by most who worship in this sort of church. Salamander aside.
[a little rudely, because she's always a bit sharp when discussing Shar.]
She promotes the acceptance of inconvenient and unpopular truths, and as such her worshippers are persecuted by those who would prefer to fixate on cheery gilded lies.
I suppose that makes sense with the entire thing being focused on inconvenient truths and such. The popular convenient liars never really enjoy that so much.
It's not as if I don't understand, I hold more than a few unpopular truths myself.
[ so her not-elven god seems cool and good and probably fine. ]
Lady Shar removes all illusions. Most cling to the comforting promises offered them by other deities. But Lady Shar shows us that pain and hope alike are nothing but heavy cloaks that burden our hearts. We shed these cloaks and embrace the darkness, and in the dark, we do not cower and pray for relief, we act.
They aren't. It's one of the principle rules of magic. You cannot travel long distances, your body cannot physically enter the Fade, and the spirit cannot be returned to flesh after it has fled. A talented healer can bring you back from the very precipice, but beyond that is nothing but a spirit playacting. "Necromancy" has nothing truly to do with the dead beyond toying with corpses.

...If you're worried about the reception, know that it is apparently a temple to some sort of bug-eyed salamander. It seemed welcoming.

This is one of your elven gods?
no subject
One of my elven gods? Hardly. Plenty of people of all races worship Lady Shar.
[she... thinks? she can remember like two of them and neither was an elf.]
Also, half elf.

[ it makes perfect sense to him to ask! it's even an attempt at being respectful. it's not working but it's an attempt. ]
Half elf. Alright. That's ... rare. I've only ever met one before.

[but okay.]
I would not say popular. I would say unpopular.

Is that before or after the cloistering?
no subject
...Think what you will. I joined the cloister because I was an orphan with nowhere else to go. They cared for me.

That's why I can't take being sent here, away from all of it.

You'll need to get used to it. There's no going back.
