I ran a free clinic for years, and still, I don't find myself all that redeemed. So maybe I should have taken payment. Then I could have gotten new boots at least.
As in doctor work. I'm a Spirit Healer. Magical healing isn't exactly legal, so I couldn't work openly anyway - and none of the refugees had money to pay with even if I had asked. Trade in kind and protection from the authorities were good enough.
[ THE SEWER EXPERIENCE .......... ander's boots are very worn, and on one of them the straps are broken enough at the top he's got a bandage wrapped around the knee to keep it tied up. that said he could easily just get new boots here, and simply hasn't. ]
[ He remembers the details when told but it's hard to remember the very basis of structures he thought were normal are just totally different over there. ]
You helped refugees? ... I think you could save some of that praise for yourself.
I think out of all of us, only Varric was from Kirkwall. Hawke was a Ferelden blight refugee, along with his family. There were so many, and someone had to help - if only a little. I'd seen what the Blight had done.
[ kicking at the dirt a little. ]

It's okay. Having something to do is good.
You can think of it like charity, or volunteerwork. Good stuff for redemption maybe.

Going on a jog will break them in fast. But you can also beat them up a little on purpose to make them softer.

Jogging, my favorite hobby. I love running in circles going absolutely nowhere.

It also is good to get the blood pumping.
